After a surprisingly intensive application and screening process, there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel: I am (almost) a volunteer at OTMH, in the role of Knitting Instructor for the Adult Mental Health Day Program. Hooray!
The official offer was delivered to my inbox on Thursday, June 22nd, and just one week later I was attending a comprehensive volunteer orientation. Now, all that's left to do is wait for the lab tests to come back. If I don't have T.B. (God, I hope not!), I'll be cleared for service and can start sharing the love of knitting--and its therapeutic benefits--with a brand new audience. Oh, the anticipation! I'm nervous, excited, and very, very honoured.

Hello & Welcome!
I'm Alexis, the knitter/designer behind cold comfort knits. My favourite animal is a sheep (obvi). Second in line? Alpacas. But not llamas--those guys are mean! As for house pets? I'm a cat person, 100%. Other things to know about me? My primary knitting fuel is vanilla-hazelnut coffee. And my inner child is actually more of an inner senior-citizen. I'm an old fogey at heart. Nice to meet you! Happy knitting! Archives
