Hello, and welcome! I'm Alexis, the designer behind cold comfort knits. I have two real passions in life; yarn, knitting to promote mental health, and coffee--okay, so three real passions!

My goal as a designer is to create patterns that are interesting for the hands yet relaxing for the mind, and I am forever guided by the belief that knitting doesn't have to be difficult to be beautiful, and that moving forward is always possible...even if it's just one stitch at a time.  

My original patterns have been featured in Ravelry’s Community Eye Candy, and on the Hot Right Now Top 20.
In addition to publishing independent designs, I've recently  had the enormous pleasure of working as a freelance designer for the incomparable Purl Soho, an iconic brand I've idolized since my days as a newbie knitter. 

Along the way I've had the good fortune to collaborate on some bespoke designs with yarn companies large and small including, The Fibre Co., Shibui Knits, The Loving Path Fibre Arts, and Leo & Roxy Yarn Co.

When I'm not writing patterns, you can find me knitting at my local cafe, teaching knitting, yarn shopping, or carousing with my fellow yarnies. ​My life revolves around string, and I wouldn't have it any other way!
